Procedures

First, before anything else!!!!

Make a folder for your projects this quarter.

  1. Click the Picture of the folder on the Taskbar at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Double Click on This PC
  3. Double Click on New Volume E.
  4. Double Click on Video.
  5. Right Click and Choose New — Folder
  6. Name the folder by combining the two partners’ names and adding Q4-2019. (Example: JamesAlyssaQ4-2019)
  7. Open the new folder.
  8. Right Click and Choose New — Folder.
  9. Name this folder Flip.

I. When you start a new video:

  1. Shoot your footage.
  2. Dump your footage.
  3. Start an Adobe Project.
  4. Import your footage.
  5. GO!
  6. Add music and sound effects
  7. Share your video.

II. Transferring video (also known as dumping your footage).

A. From a FlipCam.

  1. Plug the FlipCam into the USB port.
  2. Open a “Computer” window, and double-click on “FlipVideo.”
  3. Double-click on “DCIM” and then on “100Video.”
  4. Scroll to the bottom to find your latest clips.
  5. Now open another “Computer” window and position it next to the “100Video” window.
  6. Double-click on “(E:)” and then on “Video.”
  7. Open or create the folder for the particular project you are working on.
  8. Click the first clip. DO NOT DRAG. Hold down the SHIFT key and click the last clip. DO NOT DRAG YET. Once they are all highlighted…
  9. Drag the files to your video project folder.
  10. Now scroll down to: III: Starting a Project in Adobe Premier

B. From the Panasonic cameras.

  1. Get a cable from the third drawer in the file cabinet.
  2. Plug the camera into the USB port and tap PC on the camera’s touchscreen.
  3. Open a “Computer” window, and double-click on” Cam_HDD.”
  4. Double-click on “AVCHD” and then on “BDMV” and then on “STREAM.”
  5. Click on the “Date Modified” header to show the newest files at the top.
  6. Use the control key to select all the files you need in the “Cam_HD” window.
  7. Drag the files to your video project folder.
  8. Open Adobe Premier and click get media to import your clips.
  9. Browse to: Computer–(E:)–Video–Project folder.
  10. Use the control key to select more than one file.

C. Transferring Still Pics from the Panasonics.

  1. Get a cable from Mr. Coward’s desk.
  2. Plug the camera into the USB port and tap PC on the camera’s touchscreen.
  3. Open a “Computer” window, and double-click on ” Cam_HDD.”
  4. Double-click on “DCIM” and then on the folder with the proper date.
  5. Use the control key to select all the files you need in the “Cam_HD” window.
  6. Drag the files to your video project folder.

D. If you have a different camera, see me.

III. Starting a Project in Adobe Premier:

  1. On the desktop double-click Adobe Premiere Element 2019.
  2. Choose Edit Video and Expert.
  3. Click: File — New — Project.
  4. Name your project with the name of your video.
  5. Click: Save In.
  6. Browse to: Computer — (E:)– Video.
  7. Browse to the folder you and your partner made for this video, where you dumped your latest footage.
  8. Save your project file in there with your video footage.

IV. Import your footage.

  1. Click: Get Media
  2. Click: Files and Folders
  3. Browse to: (E:) — Video — Your Project Folder — Your Video Folder.
  4. Use the control key to select more than one file.
  5. Drag them over.

V.  Adding Sound Effects and Music.

  1. First find the sound effect or music that you want by browsing  Computer — Shared (S:) — LAMS — PEG — Sounds (or Music).
  2. Listen with the headphones and choose. make a note of the filename.
  3. The use “Get Media” in Adobe to get your sounds or music. Remember the path where they are located.
  4. Drag music to the soundtrack line. Drag sound effects to the narration line.

VI. Sharing your Video.

  1. Click the Share tab.
  2. Choose Mobile Phones and Players
  3. Change the title to the title of your video.
  4. Click save.
